Do we get all of the photos you take on the day (or do you supply the RAW files)?
I carefully select and edit each photo provided, and only give you the best images! Your photos are provided in both web-ready and high-resolution print JPEG formats, without watermarks. My style is natural and candid, photographing moments as they happen, so the images provided are of a documentary style with minimal posing, apart from your bridal portraits. I usually don't ask guests to pose for photos (apart from your formal group photos) - rather, I capture them laughing, smiling, hugging and kissing and interacting with each other and you. This approach means I cannot guarantee that every single guest or any particular moment will be represented in an image, however I will always endeavour to do so, particularly with those nearest and dearest to you.
Do we get two photographers?
I usually photograph a wedding on my own, as I am a true believer in capturing the natural beauty of your day and being unobtrusive! If your wedding is especially large or involves quite a bit of travel between locations, I'm happy to discuss an assistant or second photographer ... since they haven't quite figured out that whole 'cloning humans' thing yet.
Do you travel and how much would you charge?
For weddings more than two hours from the Brisbane CBD, I just charge an additional fee of $75 per driving hour each way for any travel time over and above the two hours. For weddings held overseas or interstate, I charge the actual price of flights, accommodation and any additional costs associated with travelling, which are all discussed and agreed upon with you at the time of booking.
Do we receive colour or black and white photographs?
You will receive a mixture of colour and black and white photos in your final set of images.
Do you Photoshop the photos?
The images I select will be colour corrected and edited in a way which retains a natural style, consistent with other examples of my work. I generally do not 're-touch' photos or use Photoshop, except to remove things like a stain on a dress or something distracting in the background, and I never alter anyone's body or face - I want you to look like you! If there is something you are particularly concerned about, like a blemish or scar, I am happy to discuss more thorough re-touching of certain images.
How long after our wedding will our photos and album be available?
I'll create a 'sneak peek' for you within a few days of your wedding. From there, the final set of selected and edited images will be provided to you within about six weeks, on a USB (high-resolution) and via your private online gallery (web/low-resolution). If your photography package includes a photo album, I will work with you to select the images to be used, and create and order your album, which will usually arrive four to six weeks after you approve the proof.
Do we enter into a legal contract?
Yes - I have a comprehensive contract which covers all aspects of the services I provide, along with our responsibilities. A copy of the standard terms and conditions of the contract can be found here. A wedding is not considered booked until your retainer payment is made and you have signed the contract.
What is your payment policy?
To secure your date, a non-refundable retainer (usually 25% of your package price) is required within seven days of your confirmation of your intention to book, paid by direct deposit. The remainder owed is due one calendar month before the date of your wedding, and may be paid in one lump sum or in smaller payments along the way - whichever you prefer.
How far ahead should I book?
As soon as you have made your decision! I generally only photograph one wedding a week, so the best way to make sure you secure your date is to book in as soon as you have confirmed your date and venue, and have met or spoken with me to discuss your photography.
Can my family take photos too?
Your guests are very welcome to take photos of your day! All I ask is that I am the only photographer acting in a professional capacity (videographers are fine!) and that your guests do not obstruct my work by blocking my view, or calling out to you to look at them while I am taking your photos. If this happens, I will just politely ask them to wait or move as necessary. Please keep in mind that my ability to maneuver around guests or ask them to move if needed will be limited during your ceremony, due to the nature of proceedings.
Your prices are a bit out of our budget - what can we do?
Ultimately, it is your wedding day and you must do what is right for you. I'm happy to tailor a package which may fit within your budget by omitting elements or reducing the number of hours of shooting - please feel free to chat with me about this!
